What is SCCYPAA?
SCCYPAA stands for the South Carolina Convention for Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous — a statewide event created by and for young people (and the young at heart) in recovery. In 2025, for the first time ever, Columbia has the honor of hosting this powerful weekend of connection,
fun, and fellowship.
What began as a small group of local members has grown into a vibrant planning committee dedicated to bringing the message of recovery to life through community. To make this dream a reality, we've been working hard — organizing speaker jams, designing t-shirts & swag, hosting kickball tournaments, holding workshops, and even planning a trivia night — all to raise funds and spread the word.
The main event will take place November 14–16, 2025, at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Columbia (1200 Pickens St). We've reserved a block of rooms for out-of-town guests, and we’ve packed the weekend with speaker meetings, workshops, live music, games, food, and more. It’s all about having fun in recovery and building community in Columbia and beyond.
